Functional Education
Along with the multitude of enrichment activities that we offer, we also provide functional education. This service is for those children and youth who do not find a place in the mainstream school system. They will always need a supported learning space. Functional Education provides basic literacy and numeracy skills along with survival skills such as reading road signs and handling money.
A lot of our students come from shelter homes for children such as orphanages and even nearby slums. The teaching is so designed that it embeds in it dance, music, theatre, art and yoga. An exposure to skills such as cooking, paper bag painting, diya painting, weaving and jewellery making is also provided so that if need be they can be taken up as a vocation.Some students attend daily sessions, some come weekly and for some there are tailor made programs suited to their need, skills and interest.
